Historic Hulston Mill – Dade County, Missouri
In 1840 the mill was established on the confluence of the Sac River and Turnback creek in Dade County, Missouri. The mill survived the Civil War and served an important role for food supplies for locals and soldiers in the area.
After the war the Hulston Mill changed owners many times until June 25, 1967 when it ground its last flour. The mill was shut down due to the development of the reservoir at Stockton Lake. Many locals came together to save the mill and relocate it to it’s current location.
The mill now rests on 50 acres of land and is cared for by the Dade County Missouri Historical Society. The site is funded only by donations and camping fees.
