Each river has different stages when it comes to water levels. For people who haven’t taken a swift water class, I would explain it like this.
Flood = No Go
Experienced = Swift Water Training
Moderate = Good Times
Low = Walking Expected
The thing is you can drown in low water but every time you move up a stage you increase your chances dramatically!
Our creeks right now are in the “Flood Stage”. This Saturday they could drop down enough for experienced floaters but not moderate.
I strongly suggest you stay safe and wait for another weekend to kayak.
