ADA Fishing Day – May 25th, 2019

Joplin Kayak Stream Team and Joplin Outdoors along with MDC are excited to offer our first ADA Fishing Day at Walter Woods. This event is free and is for any person with physical disabilities who would love the opportunity to fish.

We will meet at Walter Woods on May 25th, 2019. Two-time slots for fishing will be available to give the most opportunity for many to participate. Time slots are from 1 pm to 3 pm or 3 pm to 5 pm. The pond at Walter Woods offers wheelchair accessible fishing for about 10 fishermen at one time. Please reserve your spot to guarantee a chance to fish.  MDC will provide poles and lures for this event.

Walter Woods also offers wheelchair accessible trails to enjoy nature at its finest! So please come out bring a snack/water and enjoy your time in nature. Missouri fishing laws apply for this event. Make sure you have a Missouri fishing license or fishing permit exemption with you. This event is catch and releases only. Please bring a family member or personal aid to assist if you require additional help.
