I had the privilege of following Joshua Boothe around for an afternoon of fishing. While taking time to relax, we hit a few local ponds and I had the opportunity to ask Joshua a few questions about his love of fishing.

Joshua has won the title of 2017 Angler of the Year in the state of Missouri. He is a local Kayak Fisherman who loves to attend many fishing tournaments. Shooting for a great year, Joshua makes income from winning competitions, and from his sponsors who help cover his expenses of traveling and entry fees. Some of his sponsors include FeelFree Kayaks, Kistler Custom rods, and Evilution Lures. Joshua even mentions a few more that are in the works at this moment.

Joshua grew up fishing in the four state area with his grandfather, uncle and his father. Joshua says he was around two years old when he started cat fishing. He loves it most when a bass hits his topwater bait hard from underneath, like a shark attacking a seal.

Joshua is also one of the moderators for Joplin Kayak and Canoe (JoplinKayak.com). He leads up our fishing activities for the group and is available to answer any questions that might come up about local fishing.
